Bloomberg Picks a Lawyer to Run New York Schools: "In announcing his choice for chancellor before his top staff members in the historic Tweed Courthouse, Mr. Bloomberg has put in the final piece of a series of historic changes intended to bring greater accountability for the education of 1.1 million New York City children; accountability, he has promised, that rests with him.
In June, the State Legislature granted Mr. Bloomberg control of the school system, undoing more than 30 years of a decentralized system that was intended to give power over schools to local communities, but created huge disparities and left thousands of children without basic skills.

The Register: Microsoft man seeks US Net Radio reprieve. A bill to protect grassroots Internet radio has been offered before Congress. WebCRIMSON now has support for automatic RSS generation and RSS auto-discovery. Hopefully, that means this Virtual Team can get feeds from the free WebCRIMSON blogs.
