Pushing the limits..

OK, so am starting to play around with stuff now.

Basically I want to start a weblog to share & comment on resources within my 'work group', so far it looks like this

I figure that this is a place where I can put things that are directly relevant to my colleagues & me (ed / tech) and also to demo the potential uses of weblogs for knowledge sharing, archiving and communication. If you have a look around you can see I've done something really amateur with a chat room, popped a 'watch that page' thing on (as I'm still suffering with bloglet!) but what I really want is:

-An aggregator which I can scroll down the side like Adam Curry's where you can just get first lines or summaries but which aggregates from a number of sources like Stephen Downes's EDU_RSS. And there is no way I could get my head around how to run the EDU_RSS engine!

I'd just use Stephen's but there's too much off topic stuff flying around... my peers would run a mile!

I also want to be able to do this so that I can say to faculty members, "Hey, look at this, you can subscribe to feeds from respected writers & news sources & just pop them into your WebCT course... you'll hava an icon that learners can click on to view the latest developments in the field!"

So far I've found this tool: NewsApp. It's on the site as 'Ed Tech Feeds' and I'm sure that you can play around with it with style sheets etc. This 'aint going to help me though (or your average academic, more importantly!!!)

So, this is kinda a cry for help "Do you know anything that might work better?" and a couple of questions "Do you reckon this kind of things worth it?" "Will my colleagues (lecturers in Ed Design) apreciate it & more importantly would learners find it useful?" (I can easily track whether it's used or not once set up).

And, naturally, me getting my head in order in public :o)
