News.Com: Microsoft device to bridge TV, PC: "The device is effectively a cross between a Pocket PC-based handheld computer and a TV remote control. Sources said Mira will use Microsoft's Terminal Server, software that governs the exchange of data between a computing device and a central server."

ATI's Radeon 8500DV has a RF remote you can use to control your PC from another room using the TV (wired AV connection).

John Robb jumps into one of my favorite computing-related hobby topics: using a PC for a TiVo. I've had a TV tuner in my PCs for a few years, so I've always kept up with new software and hardware in this area.

SnapStream has a pretty well developed TiVo-like program for viewing programs on PCs. You can manage Snapstream through a Web browser and share your recorded programs on a home network or over the Internet.
