I just tried out Channel Storm's "Live Channel". These guys really fill the gaping hole Apple left open with Quicktime6 and Broadcaster. Instead of presenting the user with all kinds of streaming options, Live Channel gives you a broadcast interface.

Really simple stuff, you import files you want to broadcast, or you can hook up your firewire camera (or usb for that matter). You start the server and it even spits out a ref-movie for you to announce your broadcast with. Perfect for showing a small group (up to 5) your movies or live stream in real-time.

Dunno about the price though, $699 seems pretty steep.

Ask Jeeves boots banner ads. The search company drops the out-of-favor banner ads from its flagship site, part of a move to provide targeted ad links in search results. Note: I still hold stock in this company.

Just returned from another flying lesson. Today I did my first autorotation, as well as several take-off's, landings and hovering.

What I like most about flying helicopters is that you can't really be thinking of anything but flying the machine. There's nothing to distract you either. Today I was totally in tune with the aircraft and was in control. It's kind of like a ballet, using both hands and feet to balance with movements sometimes so subtle they are more pressure than movement.

Yep, lotsa unhappy iCal sync-ers will be there as well, be prepared!

Just installed the new update for iCal. I should've known better! Murphy strikes: My Pocketmac sync utility clearly isn't aware of the "improvements" Apple made. Now many of my appointments have become multi-day events on my XDA. Bah Humbug.
