I've been noticing more quirkiness each day when it comes to my new car. I admit I'm getting a bit testy over 'glitches' in my $120k purchase. I?ve never written about a car on my blog before. There might be an Audi technician out there who can help.
A proper review of this automobile would include the differences between the 'old' A8 and the new model. I happen to have a copy of each and there is indeed no comparison. It's like driving two different cars. The main new features are centered around driving experience. Or at least, what you do while you're driving... which consists of twisting this lovely brushed aluminium knob in the center of the car's console. This controls everything except the basic driving functions such as steering, accelleration and braking.
That means there's a shitload of software running onboard, to control everything from seat heating to tv viewing.
That software, is buggy.
Radio station lists aren't sorting, navigation maps dissapear and the friggin' knob is starting to come loose. (ok, hardware issue)
You'll recall I was one of the first in Europe to be on the road withthe new model. Serves me right I guess. As of this moment, no word whatsoever on a patch. I wonder if anything else might be failing that isn't so evident...
