A comment prompted me to look up my old writing about integrating RSS and BitTorrent.

Another reason to love my Mac: Commandline BitTorrent client. Just download the python source and you're good to go!

I posted another verse of corinthians to the daily audio bible this morning as I stumbled onto a great project I want to participate in. AKMA suggests a collaborative audio book version of Lawrence Lessig's new book Free Culture. I've already volunteerd and am reading the pdf version as we speak. More perfect content for enclosure aware aggregators. Wouldn't it be fun to receive a new chapter automagically on your iPod every morning?

I just had an afterthought. An even nicer feature of rss in this case is that all the files live on independantly hosted servers, as requested. A single rss file with enclosure tags would act as the download navigator, allowing your newsreader to pull in all of the required files so you receive the entire book all in one go, in order. This is a great way to distribute the cost of bandwidth. Now imagine those enclisure links being BitTorrent files...

BBC: " EU leaders have ended their meeting in Brussels with an agreement on a mid-June deadline to broker a deal on a constitution for Europe."

Oscar Wilde: "Thirty-five is a very attractive age. London society is full of women of the very highest birth who have, of their own free choice, remained thirty-five for years."

Dowbrigade: "Meanwhile it is scary the degree to which my worldview and emotional well-being are becoming dependent on this five-pound slab of plastic, metal and silicon. Over the next three months it will be our companion, our post office, our library, our TV, our newsstand, our juke box, our confidant, our journal, our game chest, our worthy opponent in games and puzzles, our cookbook, our darkroom, our calculator, our telephone, our scrapbook, our window on the world and our lifeline to our past. It seems a miracle that one object can fill so many roles and desires. Our preciouuusss."
