U2 are shocked over the theft of a CD of songs intended for their forthcoming album release. I can't quite tell if they're bummed about the work not being finished, or that they think less CD sales will be a result of the material being widely available months before the official release.

I spent most of my free time yesterday working on my programming. On the morning radio show we came up with an idea for a citizens based watch system. Yesterday marked the deadline Al-Qaedaa gave for all european countries to withdraw troops from Iraq and Afgahnistan, or else.
Unlike the states, here there are no warning lights, in fact, there is very little information being disseminated by the dutch government about security measures in place or being installed.
And thus the Terror Information Tracking Service was born. You send an SMS (text message from GSM ) from your cellphone to our special number, we receive that (via email) and read off some of the entries, usually folks report their cururent location is safe.
Here's where the fun came in for me; I wrote a script (in applescript) that is launched by a rule action from my mail program. That script then parses out the message and posts it via xml-rpc to my Radio weblog, which creates this webpage. I tried to make it work on a Manila based news site, but couldn't figure out the metaWeblog implementation.
All of this development work is me gearing up for a project I have in my head. One that I want to make myself, for myself. Details soon.
