Peter: "I have found the secret "blogger area" and because I have a digital camera around my neck, and a laptop on my lap, I am blending in and nobody seems to notice that I'm in the lower "news service" caste." [via ConventionBloggers]
Heb je weleens afgevraagd hoe monumenten van ruines tot stand komen? Arend doet een boekje open in Spanje dat gezien moet worden. En dat kan, in aflevering 5 van Arend's Oog. [video, 30 mb avi]
This morning during my drive from home in Belgium to the radio station in Holland I drove from the Westin hotel in Copley Plaza to the Fleet Center.
Not really of course, but I did experience a form of virtual reality as I was listening to Dave's audio blog post from Boston, where he's blogging the Democratic National Convention. I have my aggregator set up in a way that whenever an audio file is detected on a weblog I'm subscribed to it's automatically downloaded to my iPod, ready for the morning commute.
Usually I have a 'Morning coffee notes" audio file to listen to, today was different as Dave recorded all 39 minutes of his trip through Boston, complete with microphone crapping out, horrible audio levels and a million other 'faults' I could point out.
If Dave had been working for a radio broadcast organization, and filed this report he would've been looking for a new job within 5 minutes. He's a perfect case study for the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
But it isn't flawed, it's beautiful.
It's raw and personal, just like a weblog. I particularly liked listening in on Dave being interviewed by some local reporter... It accentuated the gap between realities. You'll have to crank up the volume to hear it all, but its well worth it. Can't wait for tomorrow's goodies on my iPod!
