AP: "Jon Stewart's "America (The Book)," the television commentator's million-selling riff on politics and other matters of satire, has been named Book of the Year by Publishers Weekly."
Went through a round of calls today with the companies suggested by DSC listeners and readers of this (and Dave's) weblog, Started out rough, Pipex no longer offers the Wireless DSL service. A spectrum licensing issue. Next was Bulldog, they don't have anything installed in the Guildford exchange yet, they are primarily london based. I struck paydirt with Easynet. They have their own equipment at the Guildford exchange and can totally route around British Telecom!
Scott (my rep at easynet) just sent me over the paperwork.
I'm about to order a 4Mb down, 756k up DSl line, which 'should be up' in about 10 days. I'm getting happier!!
Update: Damn, the community is really pulling hard on this one. System engineers, CTO's and sales/marketing folks are all over my account request at easynet. Thank you!
