Drivel:  So the gig at AT&T Wireless starts on July 15.  I have decided to drive to Seattle from Boston in an effort keep expenses down.  Over the four month period, it will save me over $3,500 to have my own vehicle out there rather than renting a car.  Besides, it is time for a road trip.  I plan on taking lots of pictures and camping at some nice spots during the five days I am on the road to Seattle.  The big stop for me will be at Devil's Tower in Wyoming, where they filmed part of Close Encounters of The Third Kind.  I am equipping myself to be able to connect to the Internet and make entries from anywhere on the road via my cell phone.  This is going to be fun.  12:33:27 AM   comments ()

Drivel:  As I wrap up my work at Bank Street College, I have just landed another gig at AT&T Wireless in Seattle through Darwin Partners for four and a half months to help them move their data storage facility.  This one should be really interesting.  So interesting that I am going to start writing a regular series entitled "Adventures in Consulting" or Adventures of a Free Agent or something like that.  Let me know what title you like by leaving me comment.  I just wish I would have thought of this a few months ago when I started at Bank Street.  It would have been great to compare the two.  It is not quite to same to write about it now that the majority of the work is done at Bank Street.  12:25:13 AM   comments ()

Drivel:  I have been in New York the past few days consulting at Bank Street College.  They are using Manila as the content management system for their new web site.  It is very interesting working with the academic crowd.  It is quite refreshing, actually.  They tend not to be as high strung as corporate types, but very focused on providing the best service they can given their level of resources.  I have been quite impressed.  12:20:06 AM   comments ()
