Drivel:  This sounds great, but when will wireless networking providers (i.e. Spring, AT&T, Cingular, etc.) be able to get their networks to seamlessly talk to each other?  This has been Achilles heel of all consumer focused wireless offerings in the past.  Why should this be any different?

##Wireless Web Sites Getting Useful, Not There Yet. LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - It's the geek's dream commute: stand on the crowded subway and hold a strap with one hand while using the other hand to check the weather, review e-mail, play a mindless game or two and lay a wager on the latest match in the World Cup. Drivel:  Here we go again.  This time it is Internet access, not file sharing.  Free wireless networks are even harder to police than file sharing due to their geographic nature.  ISPs should put clauses in their subscription agreement to cover wireless networking, but don't starting whacking consumers unless sufficient evidence exists that there are people actually in violation.  I wonder how much it cost Time Warner Cable to draft, print, and mail the letter to only a dozen people.

##A Dispute Over Wireless Networks. Time Warner Cable has warned some cable-modem subscribers that operating wireless networks and inviting others to freely share them violates their subscription agreements. By Peter Meyers. [New York Times: Business]  11:11:28 PM   comments ()

Drivel:  Any software engineer or QA specialist knows that this is a problem and has been since the dawn of time.  Perhaps now that it has been quantified in a way that the product managers and other decision makers understand, maybe they will listen.  I wonder how much of this $59.5 billion a year are operating system and productivity application related bugs?  Is Microsoft listening?
