I wasn't happy about the Bungie announcement, but I'm not this broken up about it.

Damien has posted a helpful primer on Understanding IP numbers and NAT. One thing that you can do with NAT that he didn't touch on is port forwarding, a method for making your internal network computers available to the rest of the internet through the firewall (dsl modem in this case) for specific tasks such as serving web pages . It's something I'm hoping to do myself at some point in the future.

Coming home after going to Shaft yesterday evening I missed a chance to take some pictures of a great twilight /sunset moment because for once I didn't actually have my camera with me. I actually keep my camera in my work bag so it's rare that I don't have access to it, but that doesn't mean that I whip it out to take pictures all the time either. Instead I generally just think about all the interesting things in daily life that I should be taking pictures of. Come Saturday, I am planning to walk downtown for Hoopfest to take what I expect to be a lot of interesting shots.
I really dug Shaft by the way, although Richard Roundtree (the original Shaft) seemed too close to Samuel L. Jackson's age to really be his uncle in the movie.
