Happy Birthday To MeI turn the big two seven today.
Talking to my dad yesterday at my day-early birthday gathering at my parents, I mentioned that it had occurred to me that morning that he had won his first high school basketball state championship as a coach at the age of 27. He replied that it just goes to show that having talented players is more important than having a good coach. Unfortunately I failed to point out at the time that twenty years later when he won his second state championship as a coach, he did it with a team that overall talent-wise probably wasn't even in the top five he's coached. Considering the overall talent of his returning team this year probably falls in the top three he's had in 31 years of coaching, I think we can expect an interesting season.
