The trip was.... enlightening..... it's really sad how stuck in their own little worlds small town people can be. Speaking in concerned and hushed tones about two girls with brightly colored hair... little kids yelling to their friends to "come see the red haired girl!". Family making Mizzy avoid mentioning that I'm her partner around the kids... even the 15 year old. Like he couldn't tell.

Adults are the ones who are fucked up. Kids have no problems with any of the G/L/B/T issues. They're curious but they're curious about everything. That's their job. Beyond that..they don't really care.

and I feel I must add to it. The fact that the adults are fucked up is why they don't want it mentioned around the kids is because they're not fucked up about it. They don't want the kids to see it because they have fewer preconceptions about it, thusly, it becomes acceptable to them. Fortunately (Or unfortunately from these example folks' standpoint) it's doomed. It will get accepted eventually. Why worry about it. Not Gay/Bi/Trans? Simple: don't date anyone other than the ones you're attracted to :)

It's a pretty decent rule even if you are GLBT...:)
