Flying over Boston or NY it's astonishing how much real estate is used to house dead people. It's taboo to ask whether the land could be put to better use. Now, in this article on the front page of today's NY Times, the city of Charlotte, NC is considering just that question. [Scripting News]
Dave's absolutely right. I'm reminded of a George Carlin album in which he was taking about solving "Houselessness"(Homelessness) in which he mentions golf courses. He then goes on to say: "I've got another place for you; Cemetaries!" The crowd, which had been hooting and hollering at the idea of using Golf Courses, suddenly falls silent. Carlin scores again...:)
Considering the kind of vaults people seem to be getting buried in, WTH would you do with the things? It'd be like having to figure out what to do with millions of cars.
Pine box for me, thanks.
