"A Christmas Carol"

Well, luckily Josephine remembered to record the 1999 "A Christmas Carol" on the ReplayTV, so we came back after our "It'll just take a little while" shopping jaunt (translation: 2+ hours) and watched it. S'very good. Patrick Stewart does a great job. The whole production really is quite good, and you have to understand that I'm pretty close to the "Eh, s'just another day, like any other" camp, myself, and I found myself touched by it.

Which is because it's not really about Christmas. It's about human compassion, which is something that's not a bad thing.

Soldiers tossing medals, you say?

We convoyed up to Baghdad for a medal ceremony. Except for four people, every one got a medal. Afterward, more than a dozen guys went out to the lake and tossed theirs in the drink. (Via GinMar)

The woman must type like a banshee. The whole thing is much longer. Looonger. Really, really long...and not all about medals.
