On Friday, we flipped the switch to go live with the redesign of The Foothill De Anza Community College District's web site. The redesign is implemented in Manila.

The District chose Manila after the success of the De Anza Faculty web site project last year. The De Anza Faculty Directory is a Manila hosting service that allows faculty members to create and maintain a Manila site. Since the project began in February 2002, over 200 faculty members have created web sites using Manila.

The new District web site consists of 30 distinct Manila sites for 7 of the District's departments. The site was designed by Tom Lauck of imagination@work. I implemented the design in Manila, developing some custom scripts and new administration tools.

The site framework was essentially completed at the end of February, when it was introduced to the District. Since then, the departments have been adding and updating the content. On Friday, we changed the DNS to point to the Manila server.
