Ugh... this really sucks... I've been ranting all day about how the balance of power shouldn't be decided by a plane crash. Did the Carnahan death affect the balance of power in the last election? What about the Torricelli flameout? My concerns evaporate.

The worst thing of all, besides the fact that his family was on the #$%&^% plane, is that he was a rare tribute to the idea that the American public is at all capable of electing a candidate with a shred of personal integrity. An ideal that I've certainly struggled with over the past few years. The California Governor's race, for instance. Perhaps Cybill Shepard would like to re-state her memories of Gray.
