Yesterday was a great day. My sister (Chris) and her family (husband Greg, Sam, Matt and Shannon) came up on vacation and we saw them for dinner. It was a lot of fun to see them. We went to the WaySide Inn. I spent a lot of time coloring with Sam :-)

I was also really proud of Maureen yesterday. Maureen visited with Lisa (a very pretty young woman with a nine year old daughter and a loving husband) who is in the final stages of ALS. Maureen had seen Lisa during visits to Uncle John (who has another serious medical condition). ALS is a really difficult disease. Maureen talked for a while with Lisa. Maureen's aunt Speck (Voight) had ALS. A hard part of this disease is that the body is failing and the mind is still completely there - you just can't control your body.

The local pharmacy is closing soon... I've been going to Kevin for over ten years. I liked going to go see Kevin. It'll be really strange going to another pharmacy. This makes me wonder about all my relationships. There are LOTS of great people around me. Things change and all of a sudden friends that you've had for what seems like a short time are gone. Sometimes that short time is ten years. Other times it's really short like merely a year or less. We'll really miss some friends (Dave and Wendy) who are moving because of a great opertunity at InfiniCon Systems.

I wondered about weblogs... and I think there are lots of different preceptions of a weblog. They can be focused on a topic, or much more personal. Links to lots of other stuff seem to dominate. Getting to know someone isn't easy with just pointers and little hints. I think weblogs can keep friends in touch. Daily contact isn't always possible, but sharing what's going on and pointing to stuff we're interested and putting pictures online can help keep our friends informed about that is going on in our lives. I'll be praying for direction and hoping to take this weblog where it seems appropriate.
