I really enjoy Cyndi Lauper's new CD "At Last".  One of the songs on it is the theme from the widow/ers heart wrenching movie "Ghost", "Unchained Melody":

"My love, my darling,
I hunger for your touch,
Alone. Lonely time.
And time goes by, so slowly,
And time can do so much,
Are you still mine?"

The theme of the movie, from a widower's perspective, is the desire to say goodbye.  I recently read one of Cindy's paperback's that was sitting on the bookshelf, "Before I Say Goodbye" by Hary Higgins Clark which has some similar themes in it.  When I started reading the book it didn't take very long for me to realize that this book was written by a widow.  I'm not that much of a suspense reader but I enjoyed this one.  Seems wierd to me that this was one of the last books that Cindy had read.

The cats keep playing with my nuts.

At Christmas time we always have this wooden bowl filled with assorted nuts in the shell, walnuts, almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, and Brazil nuts.  Every morning, as I do that one last picking up of stuff off the floor before I head out for work, I notice what looks like a cat turd or hair ball on the floor.  I assume it's a cat turd or hair ball because I'm usually already late leaving and I will have to clean it up and be even more late.  But lately it's been one of my nuts.  Usually its a Brazil nut, or sometimes two.  Maybe both cats take one out to play with.  I'm always happy that it's not a turd and just a nut :)
