Follow Me Here: " The Illusion of Conscious Will: "Do we consciously cause our actions, or do they happen to us? Philosophers, psychologists, neuroscientists, theologians, and lawyers have long debated the existence of free will versus determinism. "
Fascinating question. Pointer to a book.
My take, essentially is that both are true. the present moment (as a device to solve the riddle) is inevitable. it is 100% predetermined. 'That' moment, the one that passed out of the present is 'The' present moment by the time you break out of unity. When you are 'in' the moment - in unity/flow/whatever _you label it - you are 'with it' with the moment. From there you have many degrees of freedom along which to 'exercise choice' - you attenuate. e.g. free-will is in what you do with it - right then and there. :) Thus we have "Keep on Truckin.." |

The unofficial Astrid Lindgren Page Astrid Lindgren died peacefully Monday January 28th 2002.
The burial ceremony will take place in Stockholm on March the 8th. The ceremony will be shown on Swedish TV. The actual grave will be in Vimmerby. Safe journey to Nangiala, Astrid! We'll miss you! Astrid wasn't afraid of dying. "I don't mind dying, I'll gladly do that, but not right now, I need to clean the house first", she once said in an interview. Astrid was born on November the 14th 1907. In November 2001 she was asked what she wanted for her 94th birthday. "Peace on earth and nice clothes" she replied, with a giggle. |
