The economy may be getting better but not because people are finding jobs. 4.4% 23% (shouldn't do math late in the day) of the people who are unemployed have been so for over 26 weeks, the highest percentage since the early 80s. The number of jobs being created each month is substantially lower than it needs to be just to keep up with population growth. What compassion. Cut off benefits just before Christmas. The republicans did this last year, when things were even bleaker, so I guess we should not be surprised they are choosing now to cut and run.
