Line 'em up
. The "dissent is treason" meme progresses yet another step: Of course, Al-Quada and every other major terrorist organization are also rooting for a Democratic victory over President Bush. Do we see a disturbing pattern here? A vote for the Democrats in 20 [Orcinus]

Watch this to appear more and more. Voting for the democrats is what the terrorists want. What an intimidating thought.  11:40:02 PM

Oil firm 'overcharged' US in Iraq. A Pentagon audit finds Halliburton may have charged inflated prices for petrol to US troops in Iraq, officials say. [BBC News | News Front Page | World Edition]

War profiteering? The Iraqi's can get the gas in for 96 cents a gallon, including transportation costs. The army gets it in from Kuwait for about $1.10, including transportation costs. These guys are paying their Kuwaiti subcontractor $1.17 a gallon and then charging $1.21 to transport it 400 miles. It then adds 26 cents more per gallon, for a grand total of $2.64 a gallon. And the Halliburton gas is transported to the same depot as the Iraqi's, with the same military escorts. What a deal for everyone. Except for those of us who are footing the bill. Halliburton has already gotten over $1 billion this year from the Iraq War. I'm sure their shareholders are happy. And things are so much better now that they were charging over $3.00 a gallon the end of November. An oil monopoly sure is great. And they get another 5% from us if they can show that they did a good job handling the oil supply. Such a deal.   11:12:11 PM
