I just received the following email announcement:

At the VON Europe conference on 08 June 2004, Skype CEO Niklas Zennstrom announced that "soon" Skype would enable calling to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) system around the world. This new service will be called "SkypeOut" and is currently in beta testing to be released as soon as possible. When it is released, we'll send you another note to let you know. Thanks for your ongoing interest in Skype.

I've commented on this before. The new announcement is vague, but I think it's safe to say the service will be available by the end of summer.

The War on Not Taking Drugs.

Apparently, taking your kid off Ritalin can get you investigated for child abuse.

[Hit & Run]

I've heard rumors about this kind of thing happening for a while, but his is the first time I've seen the details of a case. Note that the article is from a mainstream news site, so it suffers from the usual bias.

The Myths of Reaganomics. Everyone seems to agree that Reagan slashed the size and scope of government. There's only one problem: the facts show the complete opposite. Murray N. Rothbard exposes the truth about the Reagan years: its vast spending increases, tax increases, protectionism, regulation, dangerous foreign economic policy, and Keynesian-style debt finance. Judged by Reagan's own rhetoric, Reaganomics was a huge failure and a hoax. [Ludwig von Mises Institute Articles]

An article from 1987 on Reagan's true record.
