While living in Japan over the past couple of years, I created a small company called Japan In Your Palm. For many visitors, the language barrier that Japan presents is quite daunting. Unfortunately, this barrier often gets in the way of full appreciation of Japan's amazing culture and culinary treats. My mission was to eliminate that language barrier using internet and mobile technology. I started translating restaurant menus for fun (and practice) and soon found myself posting these menus on the web and on an AvantGo channel. I even started an NTT Docomo i-mode channel.
