From Al:
Hi Alex, congrats on getting the OnStar interest. I think Carmen and Aiko are very interested in having her participation, as am I. I attached a copy of the email I sent to the Nokia VP yesterday. It may be helpful. That particular VP responded to me with a lot of interest in participating, but unfortunately he'll be in Europe on that date. He even reminded me that Nokia's CEO is on Ford's board and hence Nokia has a lot to say in this area. The Nokia VP is looking for another local speaker for us.
Our initial mission was/is "driving the future convergence of telematics and communications devices." I think that still applies to OnStar, but since they're an all inclusive product, it may provide a nice discussion with the other players like Daimler who are connecting your phone, etc with the telematics.
Our current mission is to have a startup be the key speaker. Carmen will put up a summary shortly. Carmen is working on Sensoria at the moment, to see if we can get the CEO. MobileAria is good candidate company for the speaker spot, but it seems we won't have access to the CEO at the time, so they'll likely remain a panelist. I've got my fingers crossed for DaimlerChrysler for the panel. My telematics consultant friend (ex Toyota telematics manager) contacted them for us today. He's a great reference for us. I'll speak with the Palo Alto Daimler CEO on Monday. We're trying to get their main telematics guy from the PA research lab.
Looks like we have confirmed 3 so far: MobileAria, Sun, and OnStar. We're going for Daimler next week. Sensoria, Atheros, PhatNoise, MagnetPoint are pending, and Nokia may have someone for us. And you have a call in to Televoke. -- Al
