DaMaGe. " .dmg files considered harmful" [~stevenf]

Steven argues that .dmg files are confusing for the newbie user, and I agree with some of his points (especially the point he makes about the Finder wanting to make an alias to (and not a copy of) a mounted disk image volume. An alias works for physical disks - but not for pretend ones)

Some big names in the 'blog world pipe up in the comments section as well. Worth reading their thoughts on the issue as well.

As for me... I don't know. But I know I don't like applications that get distributed in more then one packing format (for example a Stuffed Disk Image). It irks me when I have to throw away 2 wrapper files.

In other news, I really want a Preview button for Radio. Maybe I'll have to make it myself... grrr....

Accessing multiple AIM names to one buddy in iChat [Mac OS X Hints]

Ok, it's easy to do that, but (in my mind) it's not obvious how to easily add someone to your buddy list.

Today I figured out the easy way:

In the message, show the Participants drawer. Then drag the buddy name to your Buddy List. Bingo, buddy added.

A lot of things about iChat are really obvious once you figure them out, but not exactly intuitive at first glance.
