From the Personal Dept:

In the effort to separate my Work from my Personal life, I've been using my iDisk (and iSync) to transfer files and information from my work to my "play" computer. I guess I could just use FileSharing on my personal computer (it's a desktop and on all the time, vs my laptop work computer).... but then, umm... Backup wouldn't work.

Although I could use any number of other File Synchronization tools, for that matter....

From the Unix-Learning Dept:

Root 101 - If you don't (get) it you probably haven't got it

A good tutorial on root access - what it is, why you (might) need it, and why you probably should use it sparingly.

From the tr1cks0rz-of-the-m4st0rz Dept:

John Gruber finds out something interesting about the Alias Manager in OS X

Very interesting knowledge.

From The Resistance-Is-Futile Dept:

Microsoft spies virtual-machine territory [InfoWorld]

About Microsoft's purchase of Connectix (the Virtual PC people). I'm still not sure if that whole merger will be Good News or Bad News. Time will tell, I guess

From the Book-Review Dept:

The New York Times Reviews Down And Out In the Magic Kingdom" [Hack The Planet]

Interesting review. If you haven't read Down And Out In the Magic Kingdom I heartily recommend it.
