Oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man

I've been thinking about getting a digital camera, and oh man, the Casio QV-R40 might just be The Camera.

  • .01 second release time lag
  • 4 Megapixel
  • A feature that helps you with hard shots People Always Mess up (ala: fireworks, sunsets, scenery). They call this Best Shot.
  • Manual (as well as automatic) focus
  • 1/8th to 1/2000th shutter speed
  • $299

Manual Focus because I've been around Profession Style cameras for a while now, and I'm enough of a perfectionst to know that the auto-focus tends to do things a bit slower than a (good) human does. Plus I like sliding things.

Best Shot because I'm not enough of a pro to actually know how to take pictures of Hard Things... like fireworks.

Also it's mostly in my price range.

It comes out sometime in September, so I'll have enough time to research other cameras before that, and to get peoples opinions on it.

I invoke the lazyweb: Readers, if you have any experiance with digital cameras, please comment. What cameras work for you, what have you heard, and where are good places to go and lay my hands on one, to try out the interface?

From the Apache-Nerds Dept:
Kuro5hin | Apache mod_rewrite Primer

At some point I know I'll be roped into using mod_rewrite for someone, dynamically changing content (and, apparently, locations of) pages.

Apparently it's also helpful for managing a lot of virtual hosts.

From the Buisness Dept:
I've decided to keep a Projects Blog for my development buisness (Wilcox Development Solutions). Everybody deserves to know where I'm at in a project, and I'll probably add silly little stories about stuff that happened as I was working on the various projects.

Different projects are seperated by internal codenames, with one category for each project/codename, as well as one RSS feed for each category.

So it should be really easy to keep up to date with your project.

If you happen to be a customer of mine, please send me an email asking what your codename is. If you don't, I might not remember to tell you.

Oh, yes, where the blog is....

Wilcox Development Solutions Project Blog. Most of the entries are, well, rather cryptic... but it's really meant to be browsed at the category level anyway, so you'll live.

(Plus, if you happen to be one of my clients, some of these entries make sense to you. At least I hope).

Hopefully next week here I'll have more time for blogging. I may even be switching web browsers again.. maybe. More on that next week, when it's not 3 in the morning (EST).
