Please don't. Nobody is going to steal your car, 'cause it's a small town. People don't do that here.

I dislike car alarms as a general rule: 'cause you probably won't hear it. In college I parked like 300-400 yards away from my classes. Plus I was inside a building. I probably wouldn't hear a nuclear bomb exploding in my car, to say nothing of the alarm.

And I don't think anybody else really cares about your car. Or, nothing that a quick lie ("Mutter Mutterer.. now what IS that combination again") couldn't cover.
