Riding The Firey-Bird
Have I ranted about how much I love Firebird?
  • I love the mouse gestures I can do. (via extention)
  • I love the keyword stuff that lets me take shortcuts to my favorite search places.
  • I love the Download Status As Statusbar (via extention).
  • I love that it renders decently quickly
  • I love that I can stick actions (and not just bookmarks) in the Toolbar.
  • It's Free (and Open). Normally I don't use software just because it's free, but it certainly helps. I use lots of closed-source and commericial products every day - I even help make some. But it certainly helps.
There are a few very annoying bugs... like bookmarks deciding not to work. The whole bookmark system is actually quite buggy.

Things I dislike about the current Firebird status:
  • I hate it when bookmarks decide to not to work
  • I hate it when bookmarks open in new windows
  • I hate it when the old-skool theme is used, instead of my choosen theme, when I open a link from another application
  • I hate it when the address bar registers urls as 'undefined'. I can't bookmark them or anything.
  • I can't iSync. Please make it public, Apple
But I'm happy, I guess. Switching browsers twice in the same number of months is a little... strange of me I guess. I used Omniweb solidly for about 3 years I think. To Safari then to Firebird. Strange world.

BTW...
Radio's new WYSIWYG editor works ok in Firebird too! (It's Not Just Mozilla!)

Although, I don't know... it's neat and all, but I think I may like Plain Source view better...
