A random boat
Today I got up this morning with the intent of doing some work during the morning, then having the afternoon for myself. I had just started working, and I hear a knock on my door.

It was my Dad. He said, "Hi, Ryan. Come help me with my boat!".

I found this odd for two reasons:

  1. We don't have a boat
  2. Getting a boat is somewhat pointless around here, as we're an hour and a half or more from any large body of water. (For those that live in the same area as I, reading this: Hills Creek/Ives Run don't really count).

I kind of looked around, and didn't see any boat-trailer attached to the truck, which was also kind of funny. I did see something wrapped in plastic in the back, but I dismissed that as just being random junk. My Dad is like that.

When I got in, Dad told me that the random junk in the back of the truck was not just junk - it was a paddle boat. Finally, logic is restored to my world, and all is good.

You see, we have a pond at our house, probably 40yards long by 20yards wide. So, it has decent room for swimming, fishes, and yes, a paddle boat.

So, Dad and I, then Mom and I took the boat for a paddle - it's a lot of fun. Once you figure out how to steer.

Now I've abandoned all homes hopes of trying to get work done today, as I've got a list of other things to do today. Alas, it is Saturday, I guess, and a nice day here. I'm off to enjoy the weather!

Too much debugging
I may just be spending too much time in the debugger. Yesterday I was shopping with my family, and my Mom told me the keyless entry code for the Explorer, which I promptly converted to hex to remember it.

Given the code is easy to translate, and, I'm pretty sure I'll always remember it now. I only have to remember that those numbers are in base 16, not base 10....
