Made in His Own Image

Craig Ventner, the lead scientist behind Celera Genomics decryption of the human genome, fesses up that ~ public statements and company plans to the contrary ~ the DNA sequenced was mostly his own (not an equal blend of 5 anonymous donors).

Why am I not surprised?

As to opening himself to the accusation of egocentricity, he said, "I've been accused of that so many times, I've gotten over it." ..."That doesn't surprise me; sounds like Craig," said Dr. James D. Watson, the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA.
