Spacious Skies

On my way home from the movies tonight (The Importance of Being Earnest which, by the way, is well and truly entertaining), I drove along Rock Creek Parkway. Overhead, plane after plane flying low and fast, coming in for landing at National Airport. It was a beautiful sight.

I said aloud in my car, "Fuck you, terrorists!" and smiled.

I know it's not over. We will get hit again. But my city and my country are resilient and I'm just not going to be afraid anymore.
