Baked in an oven, or hatched from a Cocoon?

Boy-genius Aaron Swartz and the ever graceful Ugo Cei are discussing baking your blog versus "frying" it each time - dynamically created content for each hit to the page.

I can see the argument for "baking" a blog, since even though posts are often, they probably do not change within seconds of each other. Hmm.. what about creating static content using the CLI version of Cocoon? Or maybe create an Ant task to invoke a CLI Cocoon and then upload the resulting files to a remote host. Hmm...

Other miscellanea:

I'm catching the Wi-Fi bug, with the impending arrival of my iBook, which I am purchasing used from a friend. Campus has wireless all around and I think it would be very useful to be able to surf whilst in the library studying.

We have a bunch of net access kiosks on campus, which are basically old iMacs in a cabinet running some special software. All of the wireless access points are inside the kiosks around campus. However, not all kiosks are APs, and it is not clearly marked which ones are. So, I think I'm going to print up some Warchalking signs and put them up at all of the APs not only for my convenience, but for others as well. Maybe the Uni will catch on and put up official signage :)

New music influx: Brand new Underworld album, which isn't due out for a while, and a cover of Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" by Dillinger Escape Plan.

The cover of CTD is amazing, the track is the exact same length of the original song, so you can play both at the same time using Winamp and they will sync up perfectly.

The jury is still out on the new Underworld album, entitled "A Hundred Days Off.
