Argentine Ants Threaten Californian Horned Lizards. [Scientific American] These little buggers (the ants I mean) are everywhere in landscaped Las Vegas. You can't really hope to be rid of them, at best you can keep them at bay most of the time. I'm saddened to hear of the harm to the Horned Lizard populations. Few things in the wild are as cute as a baby Horned Lizard. Imagine holding a tiny, tiny one in your hand that is still sluggish from the cool night. Finally it begins to size up this huge creature holding it in it's palm. Blink, blink. YAWWWWN.
