NASA fighting back to confirm that U.S. really flew to moon

I posted this six hours ago on blivet and it still bugs me.
NASA fighting back to confirm that U.S. really flew to moon.
"[A] 1999 poll found that 11 percent of the American public doubted the moon landing happened, and Fox [television] officials said such skepticism increased to about 20 percent after their show [Conspiracy Theory: Did We Really Land on the Moon?], which was seen by about 15 million viewers." [Miami Herald]

Frankly, I am amazed that NASA is even trying to sway these folks. There is no evidence that will convince them because they don't rely on evidence to frame their conclusions. You might as well try to teach pigs to sing. The rest of us (or our descendants) can go to the stars. [via Dori]

This pretty well describes things

"It is difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room. Especially if there is no cat there."
-- Confucius [.sig on kuro5hin]
I have not verified that Confucius actually wrote or said it and I not sure I care. The tacit notion that it is 'ancient Chinese wisdom' is enough for the joke to really work - with me at least. If Confucius didn't say it, then Lao Tsu should have.
