Why are people who recover from major depression never really out of the woods?

"(A) new study, published in the November issue of the American Journal of Psychiatry, has identified an apparent 'depression trait marker' in the brain that may explain why recovered patients remain vulnerable to another depressive episode. The finding could have important implications for developing more targeted treatments that help patients stay well longer AND identifying family members at risk before they have even experienced a major depression." One hopes, one certainly hopes.

Cassini returns first image of Saturn

"NASA's Cassini spacecraft, launched five years ago, has returned its first image of Saturn while still en route to the ringed planet. NASA released an image Friday showing both Saturn and its largest moon, Titan. The image was taken while the spacecraft was still 285 million kilometers and 20 months away from the planet. Scientists said that the image confirms that the spacecraft's camera is working fine, and will also aid in their planning efforts. Cassini, launched in October 1997, is scheduled to enter orbit around the planet on July 1, 2004. It will release Huygens, a European probe that will fly through Titan's atmosphere, in early 2005." Apple Store Opening

I just love it when a plan comes together.
While Hal and Ian were attending the opening of the Apple Store in Las Vegas, Terri, the kids and I were hitting the opening here in Indianapolis at the Keystone Fashion Mall. [Erehwon Notebook]
