NetNewsWire Rocks!

I have spent today playing with a piece of software called NetNewsWire. It's simply wonderful. I had used FeedReader before on Windows, but now I have a fantastic Cocoa application that can handle aggregated news feeds. And it's zippy too! Kudos to Ranchero Software.

NetNewsWire even displays HTML somewhat (if you include it in your RSS feed). I wonder what it uses to do that (the old HTML display component or its own home-brewed component).

Regardless, I smell a future customer... :)

NetNewsWire + Safari WebKit = Ass-Kicking Goodness.

I wonder who I have to sleep with to get into the default subscription list. Maybe I need to stop blogging about the technical guts of Safari and start seeding my blog with catch phrases like "Kate Bosworth Naked." [Surfin' Safari]

Uh oh! David Hyatt as discovered NetNewsWire. I can see this thing being bought by someone, and soon.

Reporter in our midst.

I was fortunate to sit across from the new guys, Jay Thrash and Frank Boosman. Frank was eager to answer the reporters questions about the future of blogging. Frank believes that blogging, or more accurately moblogging, will become pervasive. Blog entries will be shorter, often just pictures, or video snippets. Sony Blogman, right Joi? Frank also believes that, within five years, a talented author will blog some major event and the whole world will tune in... think Into Thin Air except written real-time by a moblogger. I'm not sure if those ideas are all Frank's or not, but I'm subscribing to Frank for more stuff like that. I'll also be watching Jay's brand new blog, with a name like javahead.org how can he go wrong? [Blogging Roller]
Very interesting. I can see revolutions being televised via moblogging. I could also see Richard B doing a moblog as he treks up some South American peak :-)
