KM Basics

Andrew Adkins, director of the Legal Technology Institute at the University of Florida, is the author of
Knowledge Management: Simple Concept, Difficult Reality. He describes what he terms the "big six" pieces of KM software as well as recommended guidelines to launch and implement a successful KM program. [beSpacific]
So, knowledge management is really a catch-all phrase to refer all the information systems within your organization. Better knowledge management involves tying the various (disparate) systems together, so that browsing, searching, and mining can be more efficient.

Greg: I think the context we envision for knowledge management involves technical challenges that various programmers and engineers overcome as well as issues that may be discovered and researched but not implemented, yes?
