Matrix Reloaded Review (may spoil) Macromedia was kind enough to send the Dreamweaver/Contribute teams to see Matrix Reloaded yesterday. It's always fun to see a big movie with a big group.
So, yes, there are scenes too long and somewhat pointless. Bullet Time is cool, though. Life is choice. Yes, the plot is a bit thin in spots, and more importantly, not at all clear. Was the architect saying that the matrix is bigger than we first understood? Life is predestined. Yes, most of the visuals are very impressive. The freeway scenes are fantastic, but on the other hand there were moments when you (I) could easily tell the CGI from the rest of the composition. Life is choice. Wow, bullet time is cool. There were several fight scenes that had no umph to them, so why were they in there at all? Life is pre-destined. Did I mention that bullet time is cool? The movie is kinda like this paragraph, all over the place.
The funniest moment for me was when Triniti enters the control room to finish the computer hack... the camera zooms in on the screen showing a typical UNIX command line with various commands entered, including an SSH command. Two seats to my right, Zalman, one of the smartest computer guys I've ever had to pleasure to meet, giggled.
So what's the verdict? I think Charles said it just right, and I paraphrase... "[all this], and I'll still see it again!" And I'll happily see the third one as well, hoping that all of life's questions will be finally answered. 11:32:16 AM ![]()       |
