Manifesto Update
Still working on the company manifesto, I am not entirely happy with the wording so I won't publish it just yet. But I would like to share my central theme - honesty.
They say that honesty is the best policy, and it is - no contest. If I am taking part in any relationship with another party (and I'm using the legal definition here) I want to be able to be honest with them and I expect - no, demand - that they are honest with me.
The reason I'm including this here is because of a telephone call I received this morning. A recruitment agent called me up and enquired if I would be interested in a new job. Which was nice. What was not nice was his refusal to tell me where he had got my name and number from. As far as I was concerned that was the end of the conversation. If he was not even prepared to tell me how he had come into contact with me what else was he concealing? That is not a nice way to start any relationship and I have no qualms about taking things no further. It may have been the job of my dreams but I am prepared to risk that after such an inauspicious start.
