Backpacking the Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne
Took a backpacking trip last week, from Tuolomne Meadows "down" along the Tuolomne River, to Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Featured a 3400-foot climb one of the days, one bear, several nice swimming holes, plenty of wildflowers and outstanding views, three or four grouse, some redtail hawks, several waterfalls, lots of cedars, junipers, firs, and pines (ponderosa, lodgepole, digger), an awesome near-full-moon night, a few mosquitoes, and plenty of near-solitude.
Not one drop of rain. No afternoon thundershowers. I kinda missed them!
More details once I've written them down.
Oh, this is in Yosemite National Park.
