Front page story in the NY Times: A large federal study of hormone replacement therapy in postmenopausal women was abruptly halted, researchers say, because the drugs caused a slight but significant increase in the risk of invasive breast cancer.
The stock price of the company that makes the drug has dropped significantly. I just looked in the medicine cabinet. My wife has been taking this for over 2 years. You can imagine I was startled when I saw the Wyeth name on a package of premarin plus. I'm not immediately freaked out because Patricia is in excellent health and recently had a mammogram done, but I can't help feeling very uneasy about this. The company has a press release on their own site, but it doesn't actually tell you which pills were used in the study. Fuckers, trying to protect their brand at the possible expense of their customer's health. Unacceptable. [Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog] 11:35:49 AM |
