HelloWorld geo-contextual interface.

HelloWorld is a project for a Desktop replacement. It looks very interesting (check the screenshots), something I would definetly like to play with. What I'm wondering is how much will it take to move from one visual metaphor to another. In history of computing it has never happened: we moved from command line, which was not visual, to icons, windows, menus and trash cans back in 1984 and we are still here, with just a few more colors and soft shadows behind our windows. Geo-contextual interface - people oriented - geared for worldwide network operations

very cool looking - now, does it work?  and what does it do?

I sure like the idea of using a worldmap as a viewpoint on the network, and people are everywhere (Paolo's in Grandisca right now), Marc Barrot is in NYC, Doug in Austin, JT in Phili, Jamie down in Sunnyvale, Jimmi up in San Rafael.  Me and BigDave here in SF.  Grant in Fairfax.  Wes in San Diego and Ariel in West Hollywood.  Danny in Pacifica.  Lots of people - everywhere.

The Glass Wall: a postmortem on a massive redesign project done for the BBCi web site. This may have made the blog rounds already but I just came across a mention of it on the Well.
