Metric: U.S. wireless market breaks 50 percent penetration

According to a new survey by researcher Telephia, the U.S. wireless market has officially gone over 50 percent penetration. Their latest report highlights the U.S. markets with over 60 percent wireless penetration. And the results:Greenville, SC (???) is the cell phone capital of the U.S., with 68 percent of residents owning a handset. Tied for second place with 67 percent cell phone penetration: Atlanta and St. Louis. Boston and Washington, DC tied for third place, with 61 percent of residents owning a cell phone.
