The enterprise wireless data market is still in its formative stages, but it is being pursued by technology vendors and wireless service providers eager to claim a piece of what will become a multi-billion dollar industry. In the U.S., revenues for wireless field service solutions alone will increase from $700 million currently to $2 billion by 2006. However, the Yankee Group corporate surveys demonstrate that there are technical barriers stifling the enterprise adoption of wireless data solutions.
