I wonder if Dave Winer or the Userland gang watch hockey. San Jose would be a logical team for them to support. Wonder if Scott McNealy goes to Sharks' games?

I use software developed by both Userland and Sun. Well Scott, Dave, if you're not watching the game the Avs are up 3-1. Super Joe has two and Peter the Great hit one of the coolest passes I've seen for an assist to Blake.

This story, explains how IBM got the eBay deal. The author makes the point that it's a win for Java and Open Source because Websphere uses Apache. Websphere is cool software as is J2EE.

Some of us went to a Sun dog and pony show today about Core J2EE patterns. We decided that the Sun guys need to add a new pattern to their stuff. We call it "Your business object only exists in your drawing." Value Objects and Data Access Objects, etc. I was taught that in OO you try to model real life objects. To be fair the Sun pitch admits up front that scalability is the prime mover. I choose to model real life objects.
