Salazar: No on Alito
Daily Kos: "Senator Ken Salazar (D-CO) joins Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) as a Red State Dem voting No on Alito and not ruling out a filibuster."
The Bill Richardson Blog: "Wow. Gov. Bill Richardson, after meeting with numerous ill New Mexicans, added the
legalization of marijuana for medical uses to his call for the 30-day session about to kick off. The session is extremely full already, but this is a very interesting development. The prospects for the bill are good: last year[base ']s version passed the Senate easily, but stalled in the House due to a personal conflict between representatives over an unrelated zoning issue. Ah, politics!"

Southern Delivery System
The proposed Southern Delivery System is meeting with opposition from landowners along the route, according to the Pueblo Chieftain. From the article, "A couple who chose to live 'off the grid' is now battling the region's largest utility over access to their land...Their peaceful bubble popped in November, when they received a letter from Colorado Springs Utilities asking for access to their land for purposes of surveying a possible route for a water pipeline."

Ritter for governor?
Here's an article about Bill Ritter's choice of Barbara O'Brien as a running mate, from the Denver Post [January 19, 2006, "Ritter lauded for savvy decision"]. They write, "Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Ritter said Wednesday that abortion did not play a role in picking his running mate, Barbara O'Brien...Perhaps, but political observers say it was a savvy decision. Not only does choosing O'Brien - who unlike Ritter supports abortion rights - balance the ticket, it sends an early warning shot to other Democrats who are considering getting in the race."
