2004 Presidential Election
Hispanic voters are being courted by both Senator Kerry and President Bush, according to the AP via the Denver Post [May 6, 2004, "Candidates target Hispanic voters"]. From the article, "Strategists for both candidates believe that by focusing on Latinos in Florida, New Mexico, Nevada and Arizona - where a quarter of the population is Hispanic - they can offset the difference in votes seen during the 2000 election." Maybe both camps read Colorado Luis' Winning the Old-Fashioned Way. Heh.
Blogs for Bush talks about the hispanic vote and Cinco de Mayo.
USA Today: "The poll, released Thursday, indicates 62% of Americans are dissatisfied with the way things are going in the country. That is the highest dissatisfaction number since early January 1996 [~] shortly after the federal government shut down briefly when Congress failed to reach a budget agreement. Thirty-six percent of those surveyed were satisfied with the way things are going in the U.S."
Update: President Bush leads Senator Kerry 46 to 42 in a new Fox11Az.com Arizona poll. Thanks to Taegan Goddard for the link.
Update: Fox News: "Six months out the race is stil a draw."
